About the Program
A class where participants will:
- Learn about the foundation of mindfulness and its application to the workplace,
- Experience the sitting practice, and
- Reflect upon the rationale for living in the moment and its application to productivity.
Mindfulness is a proven technique based on three decades of research that enables individuals to:
- increase their ability to relax,
- more easily manage both short and long term stress, and
- experience an increased vitality for life.
About the Presenters
Harriet Stein, RN
Harriet Stein is a registered nurse who entered the Pharma world after 12 years working in a hospital setting as a clinician and patient advocate. She has worked in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical research and training for the past 17 years. She has studied Mindfulness extensively, including participation in coursework led by Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn who received his Ph.D. in molecular biology from MIT and is internationally known for his work as a scientist, writer, and meditation teacher. He is the founding executive director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society, and founder and former director of its world-renowned Stress Reduction Clinic. Harriet has completed advanced teacher’s training at the Jefferson University Mindfulness Institute in Philadelphia. Harriet holds a BS in Nursing and MS in Health Administration.
