About the Presenter
Christopher Dennis, MD, MBA
As Chief Medical Officer, Commercial Division and Vice President, Regional Medical Director, Dr. Dennis oversees ValueOptions’ Commercial Division medical operations, as well as the NYC Service Center’s medical and clinical operations: medical affairs, care management and quality assurance. Additionally, he is also responsible for the medical operations management of ValueOptions’ Great Lakes Service center in Wixom, Michigan and Troy, New York. He is focused on achieving operational efficiencies and improving the company’s clinical offerings to continue providing exceptional service to ValueOptions’ clients and members.
Before joining ValueOptions in 2003 as a Peer Advisor, Dr. Dennis served as the Associate Director of the Jacobi Medical Center’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program where he continues to work as an attending psychiatrist. Additionally, Dr. Dennis maintains a private practice as a psychiatric consultant to several New York area Nursing Homes.
Dr. Dennis earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed a Master’s of Business Administration in Health Care Administration through the Baruch College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine program. An Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an Associate Professor of Management at St. George’s University’s AIM: The Centre for Advancing International Management, he is board certified in Psychiatry.
About the Program
Dr. Dennis will discuss dementia and its relationship to and impact on EAP professionals as they assist their clients and dependents.
Objectives:
- Define dementia.
- Differentiate dementia from other conditions in the elderly.
- Identify behavioral consequences of cognitive impairment.
- Identify and evaluate available treatment options.
- Recognize barriers to diagnosis and treatment.
Participants will have a chance to ask questions.
