About the Program

As the world economy goes down, a rapid rise in hostility, anger and threats of violence are being experienced in the workplace. Responses to threatening individuals, like job discipline, increased security, mental health treatment, restraining orders, and arrest (if appropriate) typically do little to defuse violent individuals.

This presentation will provide a combined psychological, corporate security and HR perspective on why people become violent. Understanding these individuals’ attitudes, beliefs and mental images make effective redirection strategies available.

Components of a defensible workplace-violence program will be presented and used to help participants determine the effectiveness of their workplace-violence programs.

Participants will have a chance to ask questions.
