About the Presenter
Facilitator – Risa D. Swell, LCSW, CEAP
Risa Swell received her Master in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of New Jersey and certified employee assistance professional. She has been with The Cooper Health System for 17 years.
In her current position as Director of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), she is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive EAP, which operates as an internal program covering 4500 employees and an external program for 27 companies covering an additional 7100 employees.
Ms. Swell serves as the clinical coordinator for the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) at Cooper. CIRT is comprised of 25 volunteers whose goal is to provide critical incident stress management (CISM) services to employees of Cooper and other companies in South Jersey. CISM services are designed to assist employees in coping with traumatic events that occur in or impact the workplace. Ms. Swell and the other team members have received extensive training in critical incident stress management from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.
Ms. Swell’s skills are quite diverse. She acts as an administrator, clinician, trainer, consultant, adjunct employee relations’ specialist and educator. She also has management responsibility over the sales and marketing functions.
About the Program
An Organization Development practitioner discovers the most important priorities to address in an organization, suggests a change-management plan, and then guides the organization through the necessary change. This one-hour webinar will focus on the role of organizational development (OD) in an EAP setting. The following objectives will be met with this training:
- Identify similarities between EAP core technology and organizational development
- Explore useful OD theories in an EAP setting
- Learn a specific OD application
Participants will have a chance to ask questions.
