About the Presenters
Facilitator – Bob Mitchell, LPC, NCC, EAWS
Bob Mitchell is a Senior Coach for ValueOptions. He has received his certificate as an Employee Assistance & Workplace Specialist from the Institute for Life Coaching (ILCT) which offers coach training programs accredited by the International Coach Federation. www.coachfederation.org. Bob has also received additional training in motivational interviewing, relationship coaching, health and wellness coaching, and positive psychology which addresses how people make important life changes. As a Senior Coach Bob works with people who are desiring change in their lives around health and lifestyle matters, personal relationships, and work/life changes. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) has been in the counseling field for over 20 years.
About the Program
This presentation is an in depth look at the five stages of change as described in the book Changing for Good by the James Prochaska, John Norcross, and Carlo Dilemente. The objectives are to understand the usefulness of the stages of change as a change agent, understanding the process of change involved for each stage of change, and practical applications or techniques of the processes involved in the stages of change. The stages to be reviewed are: Stage 1: Pre-contemplation: Acknowledging the Problem, Stage II: Contemplation Resolving Ambivalence; the desire to change vs. the desire to stay the same. Stage III: Preparing to Change; Strengthening the will, Stage IV: Action Stage of Change; Making It Happen, Stage V: Maintenance; Maintaining vigilance
Participants will have a chance to ask questions.
