Meredith received her MSW from LSU in 1979.  Studies focused on clinical issues with a specialization in family and group work.  She spent the early part of her career working with families and children.  After a three year focus on adult psychiatric issues, she moved into a new area working with older adults, first as an outpatient therapist and then as an inpatient social worker on a geriatric specific unit.  She then supervised the growth of an outpatient geriatric program for 3 years.  She was promoted to a Regional Manager position where she supervised and developed programs serving the elderly population.  Currently she is working with the Timberlawn Mental Health System  educating the community about the services offered on 20 bed S.A.G.E.
