About the Presenters

Andrea Bradford, MD, MMM

Andrea Bradford, MD, MMM graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Medicine in1980.  She received her internship and residency training in Psychiatry at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, GA.  She completed a Master of Medical Management degree at Tulane University in 2003. She served in numerous positions in the Army, to include Chief, Department of Psychiatry at Fort Benning, GA and Deputy Commander for Clinical Services at Fort McClellan, AL, in addition to her service in Saudi Arabia and Iraq during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  Following her retirement from the military, she has served as Medical Director in Psychiatry at the Baptist Medical Center, Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS, Vice President for Medical Services at the Alpharetta, GA service center for Magellan Behavioral Health, Lead Associate Medical Director at the Lutherville, MD service center for CIGNA Behavioral Health, and Medical Director for the State of GA Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Disorders.  Currently, Dr. Bradford is the Vice President and Medical Director for the Morrisville, NC Commercial Sector service center for ValueOptions.

This one-hour teleconference presentation will focus on the following topics related to suicide assessment in EAP:

  2. Risk factors for completed suicide
    1. Non-modifiable risk factors
    2. Modifiable risk factors
    3. Protective factors
    4. Predictive vs non-predictive factors
  3. Clinical judgment in assessing suicide risk
  4. Liability issues in suicide assessment – standard of care
