About the Presenters

Facilitator – Bob VandePol, Crisis Care Network

Bob VandePol, MSW serves as President of Crisis Care Network, the nation’s largest provider of Critical Incident Response Services to the workplace. He consults with corporations, insurers, EAPs, and behavioral health professionals regarding how to manage the behavioral risks inherent in workplace tragedies. Active as a keynote speaker,Mr. VandePol has published and been quoted in many business and clinical journals, co-authored two chapters in books addressing workplace security and response to tragedy, and was featured in several video training series, including Critical Incident Response and Advancing Best Practices: Critical Incident Response for the Workplace. He managed CCN’s Command Center in Manhattan after the 2001 terrorist attacks and led numerous leadership summits following Hurricane Katrina and the Virginia Tech tragedy regarding how employers could lead organizational recovery during crises. Mr. VandePol is a member of the Employee Assistance Professional Association’s Workplace Disaster Preparedness Taskforce.

About the Program

This presentation will address the evolving nature of Critical Incident Response Services by reviewing issues of concern and identifying the elements present in evidence-informed best practices.

Learning Objectives

Objective 1: Participants will be able to identify research concerns regarding existent models.


Objective 2: Participants will be able to identify evidence-informed best practices necessary in Critical Incident Response interventions.


Objective 3: Participants will learn strategies to effectively communicate the value of their Critical Incident Response service to the employer.
